The DiveCon program is the pinnacle of training prior to becoming a professional instructor. Having completed the core modules of the SSI Advanced Program, the SSI Rescue Diver Program, and the Master Diver Program, a diver is now ready to progress into the DiveCon Core Modules.

Group Management
Assistant Instructor
Diving Physics
Diving Physiology
Decompression Theory
Equipment Management
The Aquatic Environment
Leading Special Dives
Scuba Skill Update Programs with emphasis on the Scuba Rangers Program!
DIVECONS THAT ARE CURRENT MAY:
- Conduct Scuba Skills Updates
- Teach Snorkel Diving
- Lead Dive Trips as a Divemaster
- Assist with Open Water Classes under supervision of Instructor
- Attend an Instructor Training Course
- Teach and issue certification cards for Boat Diving
- Teach and issue certification cards for Equipment Techniques
- Teach and issue certification cards for Navigation
- Teach and issue certification cards for Underwater Sign Language
- Teach and issue certification cards for Underwater Photography
- Teach and issue certification cards for Underwater Video
- Teach and issue certification cards for other specialties as allow by SSI
- Hold Try Scuba pool sessions
- Become a ReactRight Instructor (First Aid/ CPR)
PRE-REQUISITES
- Be at least 18 years old
- Logged at least 60 dives
- Have logged dives in different environments (Night, Boat, etc)
- Own scuba equipment of leadership quality
- Be certified at least Advanced Open Water
- Have a current medical exam
- Complete a Rescue course or equivalent
- Proof of current CPR and First Aid
REQUIREMENTS
- DiveCon Candidate Kit
- Minimum of 3 Candidates in class
